Logitech MX Master 3

The best Logitech wireless mouse overall

Logitech MX Master 3 for Mac

Programmable Buttons: 7 | DPI: 4,000 | Handed: Right | Wires: Wireless

One of the most highly regarded mice in the community is the MX Master 3. So much so that I had to give it the title of the top Logitech mouse. Not only this, but it’s also a pretty strong contender for the best wireless mouse overall across all of the available brands.

It is a modest improvement on the previous version (the Logitech MX Master 2s, which is still a great mouse). The main differences being that this updated model is much more usable with a better scroll wheel and longer battery life.

This mouse manages to do everything well. It’s wireless and works via a Bluetooth connection, and its sensor is one of the best out there. It has good sensitivity, 5 different programmable buttons across the mouses surface and a great ergonomic design.

It also has something called Logitech Flow. You can connect the mouse to 3 different devices at the same time, and you can use the mouse between the devices pretty easily. The cursor flows through the different monitors, making it great for those who may have more than one computer or laptop to use.

Something pretty unique that the MX Master series has is a scrolling wheel on its inner side, with this updated version having the fastest and smoothest wheel of the bunch. You can scroll this wheel with your thumb, and it goes sideways. It’s perfect for designers, editors and those that use Microsoft Excel heavily.

Overall, this is going to be one of the top options you can find out there for the next few years. Probably until they release the MX Master 4, to be honest.

Pros

Inner scroll wheel adds an extra dimension to this mouse.
Very comfortable to use, even for long hours.
Excellent battery life that will last a long time.

Cons

Programmable buttons are good but could be placed better.
Could be too expensive if you want a budget mouse.

Verdict: This is the perfect option if you’re looking for an ergonomic right handed mouse that will last a long time.

Logitech MX Vertical

The most ergonomic Logitech mouse

Logitech MX Vertical Ergonomic Mouse, Multi-Device, Bluetooth or 2.4GHz Wireless with USB Unifying Receiver, 4000 DPI Optical Tracking, 4 Buttons, Fast Charging, Laptop/PC/Mac/iPad OS- Black

Programmable Buttons: 1 | DPI: 4,000 | Handed: Right | Wires: Wireless

Vertical mice are kind of like Marmite – you either love them or you hate them. Though they can take a while to get used to, they can definitely be more comfortable for long hours of work. The MX Vertical is a good example of an ergonomic mouse that performs well.

It has a great battery life too which will minimize the amount of time you need to spend recharging it. Using the Logitech options software, you can connect it to three devices at the same time. This is handy if you have a laptop and a tablet you want to connect it to.

Though a different style, it still has the same reliable connection and sensor that you’ll find with other Logitech mice. You can either connect to it via Bluetooth or also using a 2.4GHz wireless connection if you want as well.

If you’ve been struggling with your wrists for a while, then it might be worth checking out this mouse as a solution. It’s not guaranteed to make a difference, but many find that switching to this style has benefitted them.

Pros

Keeps your hand in a more natural position.
High quality grip area for your thumb to rest.
Responsive optical sensor.

Cons

Above budget for most people.
Lack of customization and programmable buttons.

Verdict: The Logitech MX Vertical is definitely a high performance option if finding an ergonomic mouse is your main goal.

Logitech M325

On a tight budget? No problem

Logitech M325 Wireless Mouse, 2.4 GHz with USB Unifying Receiver, 1000 DPI Optical Tracking, 18-Month Life Battery, PC / Mac / Laptop - Dark Silver Black Grey

Programmable Buttons: 0 | DPI: 1,000 | Handed: Right | Wires: Wired or Wireless Available

Finding a cheap wireless mouse isn’t that easy nowadays – well, at least not a good one anyway. But if you’re looking for a budget friendly mouse made by Logitech, then you’ll want to check out the M325. It has the standard 1000DPI, which is perfect for normal browsing the internet and casual use.

It’s a well built mouse, made with the same base style of many of the bestselling Logitech mice over the years. With a responsive sensor and a strong scrolling wheel, it does all of the basics very well. The scrolling wheel is more advanced than most other cheap mice out there.

Another good thing about this mouse is that it uses very little battery, which means that you won’t need to change them very often (it advertises less than every 18 months, but you’ll realistically you’ll get at least a year from one set of batteries). It only takes one AA battery, too.

This mouse is completely ambidextrous, so you can use it with either hands (a relief for the abandoned left handed folk amongst us). All in all, it’s the best budget Logitech mouse that you can find nowadays.

Pros

Almost instant use with no installation.
Responsive when you’re using it.
One of the most reasonably priced Logitech mice.

Cons

Doesn’t scroll particularly well for a Logitech.
Quite small, probably not large enough for big hands.

Verdict: Want a basic mouse to use with your computer on a daily basis? The M325 might be the most suitable choice for you.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2s

Ideal for travelling

Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Wireless Mouse, Multi-Device, Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz with USB Unifying Receiver, 200 To 4000 Dpi Any Surface Laser Tracking, 7-Buttons, Laptop/ PC/ Mac/ iPad OS - Graphite Black

Programmable Buttons: 7 | DPI: 4,000 | Handed: Right | Wires: Wireless

The Logitech Anywhere series was released and the brands venture into the portable travel mouse business. It’s a pretty great option for this, so if you’re always on the move, then this is the right mouse for you.

What makes it good for travelling? Well, firstly the durable design is probably the most important factor – cheaper mice are more liable to break easily. Whereas with the Anywhere MX 2s, you can be sure that this will work, and it’ll last you for a good while too.

It’s a rechargeable mouse, but you’ll get a good amount of time from the battery life of this mouse. You can also connect to several computers at the same time, so if you’re travelling and only need a mouse between a few people, this would fit the bill.

As well as having a good scrolling button, you can also use the 7 programmable buttons on this mouse to make things a little easier for yourself too. It; works well with both Windows and Mac devices.

The only thing I do have to mention with this mouse is that the scrolling wheel isn’t a click button! So if you need to pan (designers and software professionals, I’m talking to you) then this definitely isn’t the right mouse for you. But for everyone else, it’s a pretty good option.

Pros

Ideal for throwing into your backpack and travelling with.
Very comfortable design when in use.
Works very well with Apple laptops.

Cons

The scroll wheel isn’t very smooth.
Can stick after a full day of use.

Verdict: Another amazing choice from Logitech, but only if you don’t need to use the scroll wheel as a click button.

Logitech G502 Hero

A great budget gaming mouse

Logitech G G502 HERO High Performance Wired Gaming Mouse, HERO 25K Sensor, 25,600 DPI, RGB, Adjustable Weights, 11 Programmable Buttons, On-Board Memory, PC/Mac - Black

Programmable Buttons: 11 | DPI: 16,000 | Handed: Right | Wires: Wired or Wireless Available

The Logitech G502 series is one of the better cheaper options from Logitech. And from this series, the G502 Hero is probably the best of the bunch. It’s available in both a wired and wireless version, and you can also get it finished with a nice white colouring too (it kind of goes against most gamers black aesthetic, but hey).

Even though it’s one of the cheaper mice on the market, it still has the ability to pack in a ton of different buttons onto the mouse itself. That’s right – it has 11 buttons for you to program to your own liking.

This might be a little too many to be genuinely used for an amateur, but if you can get used to it, you can gain a massive advantage. Combine it with a solid gaming and you’ll be set.

Like you’d expect from a gaming mouse, it has a high sensitivity of 16,000 DPI. However, you can actually increase this if you use the Razer Synapse software. This will allow you to increase this all the way up to 25,600 for a super responsive experience.

One of the better parts of this mouse is the scrolling wheel that it uses, which although is quite loud, is super fast. It also comes with some weights which you can add onto the mouse to make it a little heavier (they’re 3.6g each).

All in all, this is one of the better options if you’re looking for a budget friendly Logitech gaming mouse. It might not blow you away, but it’s a solid and reliable mouse that will last.

Pros

A lot of different buttons to customize.
Braided cable makes it very durable.
The RGB lighting definitely looks great.

Cons

Some people aren’t fans of the Logitech software.
Could be too heavy if you want a lightweight mouse.

Verdict: Maybe the best gaming mouse that Logitech offer, the Hero G502 is perfect if you need an ambidextrous design.

Common Questions about Logitech Mice

Are Logitech mice good?

If you’re wondering where Logitech hold up against other brands out there, then it’s pretty fair to say that they’re near the top in terms of reputation. In terms of gaming mice, then maybe people would prefer to opt for a Razer mouse instead. But for day to day mice, it’s pretty hard to beat the Logitech range.

Which Logitech mouse is best?

If you’re looking for the best Logitech mouse overall, then I’d advise that you check out the MX Master 3. The whole series is pretty impressive, with the 3 being the best of the bunch. For something cheaper, you could look at the Logitech MX Master 2s.

Can a Logitech mouse work with any receiver?

If you’ve already got a Logitech mouse at home, then you might be able to use that receiver with your new mouse. Generally, you’ll need to download Logitech’s software if you want to set up a different receiver with your wireless mouse.

Why is my Logitech mouse not connecting?

Usually Logitech mice has great connectivity with your computer or laptop, but there might be times where it can’t connect to your device. The main reason why a mouse may not be able to connect to a device is probably because it has a low battery. Also, you might want to check that it’s connected via the right port if it’s a wired mouse too.

Who owns Logitech?

Interestingly enough, the parent company that owns Logitech also owns several other companies within the tech industry. This includes Jaybird Headphones, Astro Gaming and also Ultimate Ears, the Bluetooth speaker company.

Conclusion

There are many different Logitech mice out there for us to look at, and much of your decision will likely be based on what you’re looking for. And depending on what you require, you might need to do some more research. For example, if you need an ergonomic ambidextrous mouse, then this can be a little more difficult to find.

Whilst you can find a cheap mouse that costs very little, it can be worth to invest in a mouse that’s going to last if you’re going to be using it all the time. And if that means it costs a little more, then so be it.
