What is the Dell U4320Q?

The Dell U4320Q is a huge 4K monitor. It offers you a lot of screen real estate and is a great choice if you’re not into multi-monitor setups. Read this review to know more about this monitor.

Dell U4320Q – Image Quality

The Dell U4320Q is a 43-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) monitor that is based on an IPS panel. It covers 96% of the sRGB color gamut and supports 10-bit color depth via dithering.

Its sheer size is its biggest advantage. It is similar to using four 21-inch monitors. You can browse Reddit, watch YouTube videos, work on multiple documents, edit pictures all at the same time without having to worry about running out of space. This makes it perfect for those wanting to maximize their productivity.

The image quality of this monitor is excellent. Thanks to the impeccable quality control by Dell, it is on par with the best panels we have tested. The colors are rich and true to life. It doesn’t need any additional color calibration. You can also use it for graphic design.

The panel uniformity is also good. Most other 43-inch monitors we tested had problems with maintaining uniform colors across the panel due to their large size. That is not the case with this monitor.

The 4K resolution makes images look sharp and detailed. It has a pixel density of 103 PPI. The text appears crisp without any issues of blurriness and pixelation.

It has a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a brightness level of 350-nits. When tested, its contrast ratio and brightness levels hovered around 880:1 and 290-nits respectively. This is due to its huge size and honestly, most of you won’t notice it while using the monitor.

The Dell U4320Q has 178-degree wide viewing angles. You can view this monitor from extreme angles without having to worry about changes in colors and brightness. This is an advantage of IPS panels unlike TN panel monitors whose colors appear washed out even from a smaller

The monitor we reviewed had no dead pixels on it. It also has a matte anti-glare coating on it that deflects reflections that form on it. There was also no IPS glow observed.

The overall image quality of the Dell U4320Q is superb. When compared with other 4K monitors in its price range, we noticed a huge bump in the visual quality. You will definitely enjoy working, watching movies, and playing games on this monitor.

Dell U4320Q – Design, Ergonomics, and Connectivity

The Dell U4320Q comes in a simple yet elegant design. It also looks slim for its size. It has ultra-thin bezels that help reduce the bezel gap when you use it for a multi-monitor setup and also helps to maximize the viewing area.

The build quality of this monitor is first class. The plastic feels premium and is durable. The backside of this monitor has a matte finish that helps prevents any smudges from forming on it. The stand has a square base and stands sturdy without any wobble. It is also easy to install. Just make sure you have a desk that is large enough to accommodate a monitor of this size.

The Dell U4320Q has five small OSD buttons on its lower bezel instead of a joystick. This is a minor disappointment as most other monitors in its price range use OSD joystick.

The ergonomics of this monitor are very good. Despite being a huge monitor, you can adjust its height up to 60mm, swivel it from -20 degrees to + 20 degrees and tilt it from -5 degrees to +10 degrees. Most other 43-inch monitors we reviewed did not have such ergonomics.

There are also 100x100mm and 200x200mm VESA patterns present on its back using which you can wall mount this monitor.

It also has a ton of connectivity options. You get 2 x DisplayPort 1.4, 2 x HDMI 2.0, 1 x USB Type-C (90W charging). It also has USB hubs containing USB 3.0 ports for increased connectivity and a 3.5mm headphone jack to connect headphones.  Accessing those connectivity ports is a bit of a struggle due to their position. USB-A and USB-C ports are towards the side and are easily accessible. The rest of them are on the backside of the monitor facing downwards.

The Dell U4320Q comes with 2 x 8W built-in speakers. They aren’t very loud but still better than nothing. For a much better sound experience, I suggest you buy external speakers for this monitor.

Dell U4320Q – Gaming Performance

The Dell U4320Q is a decent choice for casual gaming. Its superior image quality makes gaming enjoyable.

It has a refresh rate of 60Hz. There are only a handful of 4K monitors in that market that offers you a much higher refresh rate.

Its response time is around 5ms. Its input lag is imperceptible.

It doesn’t support any variable refresh rate technologies like Nvidia’s G-Sync and AMD’s FreeSync.

The Dell U4320Q is made mainly for productivity and multimedia consumption. It may be enough for casual gamers but for serious gamers, I suggest taking a look at the alternatives mentioned below.

Dell U4320Q – Additional Features

The Picture in Picture mode helps you divide your monitor into different segments. You can work on different applications simulations. This helps boost your productivity while working on important tasks.

The Picture by Picture makes use of the various connectivity ports to view inputs from more than one device. For example, You can connect two different laptops using the HDMI ports available and view their input on one single screen using this feature.

The Dell Display Manager is a simple software you can use to change the layout configuration. There are various presets that allow you to divide up your screen in any way you like. You can also create a custom layout that suits your needs. You can also use it to tweak settings such as brightness and various other settings.

The Dell U4320Q also has a blue light filter called ComfortView. It will help prevent any eye strain after prolonged use of this monitor. It is also a flicker-free monitor. You won’t experience any headaches while using it.
