Do Apple Watches Have Cameras? (Find Out!)

Do Apple Watches have cameras? And if so, is it a high resolution one or a useless camera that doesn’t do the watch any justice? Keep reading to find out!

The Apple Watch is one of the most popular smartwatches in the world. It integrates seamlessly with your Apple iPad or iPhone, and it allows you to easily send notifications and get data at a glance directly on your wrist.

However, the Apple Watch comes with a wide range of different features that allow you to track data and other things with ease. It tracks you when you are moving and it also gives you information about your day in general.

Does Apple Watch Have A Camera?

To put it simply, the Apple Watch does not have a built-in camera. However, what you can do is use the device as a trigger for taking some amazing shots using your iPhone.

The Apple Watch has a camera app that you can use. This will allow you to position your iPhone in the correct position before you take a shot. You can easily keep your camera at a distance and then take some stunning shots.

Another excellent feature of the device is that it allows you to take shots and view them remotely. This allows you to take photos and then view them on your wrist before you decide to go ahead and save the shot.

You should know that the watchOS can also be used as a shutter timer.

How to Use the Camera App on Your Apple Watch

The Apple Watch is an incredibly intuitive device that gives you maximum control over your Apple iPhone. To act as a remote for your iPhone, you should know that the device should be in the range of your Bluetooth connection.

The Apple iPhone is able to connect with the Apple Watch within 33 feet, so you have a considerable amount of freedom when taking shots.

Thankfully, the company has made it incredibly intuitive to take photos and shots with ease. You just have to bring your mouth near the Apple Watch and say, “Take a Picture.”

This is going to launch the Camera app, or you can just open the app directly. Just use the Digital Crown and swivel to the Camera application.

Then, you just need to position your iPhone in a way that you get the frame that you want. Your Apple Watch can be used as a viewfinder, amazingly.

To regulate the amount of exposure, you just need to tap on the area that you want to maximize, and you can change the amount of exposure.

Once you have set up the shot, you can just tap on the shutter button to shoot the shot. You can also take Live Photos; just long-press on the Apple Watch.

Once a photo is taken, you can just enter the gallery and then view the shot as well. The Apple Watch also gives you exceptional control over your camera by also allowing you to change the different camera modes.

You need to launch the Camera app on your watch, and then if you want to change the camera, just tap on Flip. The camera on your iPhone is going to flip, and you can then take the shots.

To choose a different camera mode, you can also choose from Time-Lapse, Portrait, Video, Square, and Slo-Mo. You can easily adjust the shutter timer and even the HDR with your Watch.

You can launch the Camera on your Apple Watch, and then long-press on the display to launch a series of features. You will see several options, including Live, HDR, and Flash.

There’s even a shutter timer that you can choose to add a delay whenever a shot is being taken.

How to View Your Shots

As mentioned, you can easily view the shots that you have taken on your Apple Watch as well. The first thing that you need to do is open the Camera app, and then click on the tiny thumbnail that’s on the bottom left.

When you do that, you will see all of the photos that were taken.

You can zoom in the photos by just adjusting the digital crown, and you can also pan and then double tap to fill out the entire screen. Obviously, one of the biggest limitations that you are going to face is related to the size of the Apple Watch.

This Is Not for Professional Editing

One of the most common misconceptions that people have in their heads is that they think that the Apple Watch is designed for taking and viewing professional shots. That’s not true at all.

There are many photographers who now use their iPhones for default photography. If you are going to take photos on your iPhone in a professional capacity, you will obviously want to switch to RAW photography.

The limited size of the Apple Watch’s screen makes it difficult for you to view the photos in detail and make adjustments accordingly.

Added Functionality

The Apple Watch is an excellent complement to your iPhone. It is a great choice for people who want to maximize their usage of their Apple devices.

If you want added functionality on your wrist and wish to get one direct look at all of your notifications and performance, it is a fantastic idea to invest in the Apple Watch.

However, you have to understand that the Apple Watch is a pretty expensive device. It’s really not something that you can buy without a thought. This watch costs well over $400, so you have to first decide whether it’s worth the purchase or not.

Different Bands

If you want, you can also buy different kinds of bands for your Apple Watch as well. For instance, if you like activity, you can buy bands that are designed to maximize your efficiency and performance while you are running.

If you want, you can easily choose from different bands and mix and match things to best fit your fashion needs as well.
