What is the Lenovo G34w-10

The Lenovo G34w-10 is a 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitor. It is a great choice for those looking for a cheap yet feature-rich gaming monitor. Read this review to know more about it.

Lenovo G34w-10 - Image Quality

The Lenovo G34w-10 is a 34-inch WQHD (3440 x 1440 21:9) Monitor. It is based on a VA panel. It covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and supports 8-bit color depth.

The image quality of this monitor is decent. The colors stand out from one another making them appear fairly vibrant. I wouldn’t suggest it for color-critical work but for gaming, it is more than satisfactory.

I recommend calibrating its colors for improved color accuracy. If you cannot do that, go with the “sRGB” color preset in the OSD menu. Also, try increasing the saturation to 70 and contrast to 80. This should make the colors look natural.

There is also a way to make this monitor display a 10-bit color depth. Use an external DisplayPort 1.4 cable and select the DisplayPort 1.4 option in the monitor settings. Now go to Nvidia Control Panel and change the output color depth to 10-bit. This should definitely improve your picture quality.

This monitor has a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a brightness level of 350-nits. Its high contrast ratio makes blacks look darker and makes visuals look realistic. Thanks to its high brightness levels, you can use it in a well-lit room without any problems.

It has 178-degree wide viewing angles. There were no significant changes in colors, brightness, and contrast levels when viewed from extreme angles.

It has an optimal pixel density of 109PPI. This makes images look detailed without any pixelation. The text also looks sharp. It is easy on the eyes as you don’t have to squint them to see clearly.

The Lenovo G34w-10 I reviewed had no dust spots or dead pixels on it. There is minor backlight bleeding present on its edges. It is visible mostly when viewing something dark. It also has a matte anti-glare coating on it that helps diffuse any reflections that form on it.

All things considered, I’m satisfied with its picture quality. It could definitely use some tweaking initially but if you follow all the steps I’ve mentioned above, its color quality improves by a significant margin. Simply connect it to a beefy graphics card that can push high frame rates at 1440p and you will have a great time gaming on this monitor.

Lenovo G34w-10 - Design, Ergonomics, and Connectivity

The Lenovo G34w-10 is a curved monitor. It has a curvature of 1500R. This makes gaming and watching movies more immersive. It has thin bezels that minimize any distractions when used for a multi-monitor setup. It comes in a simple solid black design. It doesn’t have any aesthetic features like RGB lights etc.

The build quality of this monitor is decent. It is made of good quality plastic. It comes with a V-shaped stand that stays firm without any wobble. In terms of ergonomics, you get height adjustment and tilt functionalities only. You cannot rotate or swivel it. There is a 100x100mm VESA pattern present on its back using which you can wall-mount it.

t has a joystick present on its lower bezel. Most monitor brands use OSD buttons in their budget offerings. It is impressive to see Lenovo use a joystick.

In terms of connectivity ports, you get 1 x HDMI 2.0 and 1 x DisplayPort 1.4. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack. This monitor doesn’t have in-built speakers.

Lenovo G34w-10 – Gaming Performance

The Lenovo G34w-10 is a decent ultrawide gaming monitor.

It has a refresh rate of 144Hz. You will have a silky-smooth gaming experience. Just make sure you connect it to a powerful graphics card that can run games at 100+ FPS at 1440p resolution.

It supports FreeSync technology. You will have a stutter-free and lag-free gaming experience. It also works well with Nvidia graphics cards. If you face any issues of flickering while gaming, simply use a good quality DisplayPort 1.4 cable instead of the one supplied in the box.

It has a response time of 4ms. Its input lag is around 9ms. Although its input lag is imperceptible, you are better off using a TN panel monitor for competitive gaming.

I also observed minor ghosting in dark parts of fast-paced games. This is pretty common for VA panel monitors. Using the extreme option in the overdrive menu helps minimize ghosting by a large margin.

The Lenovo G34w-10 is a great choice for sim racing, flight simulators, and MOBAs.
