What is Pixio PX275h

The Pixio PX275h is advertised as a productivity gaming hybrid monitor. It does keep its promise and lives up to my expectations. It is one of the best monitors in its price range. Read this review of The Pixio PX275h to know more about it.

Pixio PX275h – Image Quality

The Pixio PX275h is a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 (QHD) Monitor. It is based on the IPS panel. It covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and supports true 8-bit color.

The 1440p resolution offers you better image quality and more screen real-estate than a 1080p monitor. The Pixio PX275h is the perfect choice for those looking for an affordable upgrade from the 1080p resolution.

The image quality of this monitor is very good. The colors look vibrant and make images look full of life. The IPS panels are known for their excellent color accuracy so this is not a surprise.

The factory color calibration of this monitor is not the best. Color calibration will improve its image quality by a huge margin.

There are my best color settings for the Pixio PX275h

  • Brightness = 30
  • Contrast = 50
  • DCR = Off
  • Gamma = 2.1
  • Picture Mode = STANDARD
  • Saturation = 50
  • Color Temperature = USER
  • RED = 47
  • GREEN = 46
  • BLUE = 48
  • Low Blue Light = 0
  • FreeSync (Adaptive Sync) = On

These settings should make the image quality much better. Do keep in mind that these settings worked perfectly for me and since every monitor is different, they may not be perfect for you. But for most people, they are more than enough to improve the visual quality of the monitor.

The Pixio PX275h has a contrast ratio of 1000:1. It is the standard for most IPS monitors. You will have crisp-looking images with colors that pop out. It has a brightness level of 350-nits. It is plenty and you will have no issues using it even in a well-lit room. The overall panel uniformity of this monitor is decent.

This monitor has wide and relaxed 178°-degree viewing angles. There will not be any washed-out colors when you view this monitor from different angles, unlike TN panel monitors.

It has an excellent pixel density of 108PPI. You will have crisp-looking images and sharp text. It is also easy on the eyes.

The Pixio PX275h also supports HDR. It is largely hit or miss. I would not recommend you pin hopes on this monitor in terms of HDR. It could have performed much better if it had a better peak brightness.

The monitor we reviewed had no dead pixels on it. There were little IPS glow present towards its corners. It is tolerable and is only visible in dark areas of the game or a movie. IPS glow is present in all IPS monitors and cannot be eliminated. You can try to reduce the brightness to control it.

It has a matte anti-glare coating on it that will handle the reflections that form on it effectively.

Overall, the Pixio PX275h has an impressive image quality. It needs some initial calibration but after that, you don’t have to look back. The only drawback was its lackluster HDR performance. Putting that aside, it is a great choice for watching movies, playing games, and everything else in between.

Pixio PX275h – Design, Ergonomics, and Connectivity

The Pixio PX275h comes in a simple design. It blends perfectly with office spaces. It has ultra-thin bezels that offer you fewer distractions when you use it for a multi-monitor setup.

The build quality of this monitor is first class. The cabinet is made of good quality plastic. It feels durable and is strong. The backside of this cabinet has a matte finish that makes it easy to clean. The V-shaped stand is made of metal. It stands sturdy and doesn’t wobble. It has a hollow for cable management.

There are five OSD buttons present on the right-hand side of the lower bezel. They are easy to reach and responsive. A joystick would have been a better option but buttons are fine for its price.

The stands only allow -5°/+20° Tilt functionality. You cannot adjust the height of the monitor, swivel it, rotate it, or pivot it at 90°. There is a 100x100mm VESA pattern present using which you can wall mount this monitor or connect it to a third-party stand.

The connectivity options of this monitor are generous. You get: 1 x HDMI 2.0, 1 x DisplayPort 1.2, 1 x HDMI 1.4. There is a single USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Pixio PX275h also has 2x 3W built-in speakers. They are not too loud and I suggest using external speakers for a better audio experience.

Pixio PX275h – Gaming Performance

The Pixio PX275h is a very good monitor for gaming. You can enjoy both impressive visuals and excellent performance in games.

The 1440p resolution is a great choice for those looking for an improvement from 1080p. It supports higher refresh rates and taxes your GPU less than a 4K monitor.

It has an uncommon refresh rate of 95Hz. Most monitors either offer you a meager 75Hz or a massive 144Hz refresh rate. 95Hz is the perfect middle ground. You will notice a big difference in the smoothness of games when you switch over from a 75Hz or a 60Hz monitor.

It has a response time of 4ms. Its input lag is around 3ms which is impressive for an IPS monitor. You will not have any major issues with ghosting and motion blur in games.

The Pixio PX275h also supports FreeSync variable refresh rate technology. It will eliminate any screen tearing, stuttering, and lagging in video games. You can also use it for 10-series and later NVidia graphics cards.

The FreeSync used in this monitor also supports Low Frame Rate Compensation (LFC). This is useful when your games run in the FPS below that is supported by the FreeSync range.

The frames will simply multiply and try to fall into the FreeSync range giving you a tear-free gaming experience even when your FPS is out of the supported FreeSync range.

Pixio PX275h – Features

The Pixio PX275h has a blue light filter. You can enjoy gaming on it or work on it for long hours without worrying about eye strain.

It is also flicker-free. You won’t experience any headaches using if you are sensitive to flickering.

The Picture-in-Picture feature helps you divide the monitor into several segments and use each one for a different application. It helps you multi-task effectively.

You get access to pre-calibrated image presets you can use to view different types of content.

There are custom crosshairs you can use in games. The overdrive feature helps you adjust the response time. I suggest using the “middle” setting for an optimal gaming experience.
