Can someone hack my phone by calling me or texting me? A lot of people might have heard about it but nobody has really experienced it. The anxiety, however, is definitely justified.
Your mobile phone carries virtually everything important in your life: access to your social media accounts, your bank accounts, your personal details, and a whole lot more. The last thing that you would want is for someone to hack your phone and steal all of your personal information.
More importantly, losing out this information over a random call or a text message is even worse. The question, however, remains, can someone hack into your phone by just calling or texting you?
There are quite a few questions that must be answered before you get a definitive understanding of how cell phone hacking really works.
So without further ado, let’s talk about whether someone can hack into your phone by calling or texting you, or if they could break into your phone through a mere text. More importantly, we shall also share some common ways by which a person can hack into your device.
Can Someone Hack My Phone by Calling Me?
Many people are worried that an anonymous call might be through a hacker and they could gain access through your smartphone. We all get plenty of calls throughout the course of the day and many of those numbers aren’t even saved. So how do you know which one to pick up and which one to avoid?
The fact of the matter is that if a mobile phone could be hacked through a mere call, it would be a pretty dangerous world. However, when you talk to any expert, they are probably going to laugh in your face. Your mobile phone is like a mini computer; it’s an incredibly powerful and sophisticated device with years of engineering behind it.
For instance, through a call, a professional hacker might be able to find out where you live. But in order for that to happen, the call must be for a significant duration. It takes time to triangulate a cell phone signal and even then, the person will just know the nearest tower through which your cell phone signal is bouncing from.
It’s going to be quite impossible for someone to pinpoint exactly where you live. More importantly, there’s another problem associated with phantom calls. A phantom call is one where the other person doesn’t talk at all. You might be bombarded with calls throughout the course of the day but if nobody is answering or talking back, you might want to go to the authorities about it.
Now, to answer the question: it’s pretty much impossible for anyone to hack your mobile phone by just calling you so you don’t need to worry about that.
Can Someone Hack My Phone by Texting Me?
This is another question that most people ask. Well, in a nutshell, someone can’t just hack your phone by sending you a text. It primarily depends on how you respond to the text. We live in a dynamic, rapidly changing world and technology is now able to do things that we thought were impossible before.
You might have received a bunch of text from unknown sources. Simply opening a text message on your device isn’t going to cause any harm but you should know that these messages often contain links to compromising websites and offers.
Many of the text messages that you might receive are designed to entice you to click on a link and depending on what you do, there is a chance that your mobile phone might get hacked.
For instance, if you are unable to identify false claims and information, you might be the victim of a malicious attack in the future. Mobile phones are relatively insecure and your data might get stolen if you follow another link.
You might get redirected to a phishing website or you might be taken to a site where you are asked to enter your personal information.
Remember that if you receive an offer that seems too good to be true, it probably is. Instead of tapping on the link and entering the website, you should always avoid it. There have been countless instances where websites have managed to steal personal data from users without their knowledge. In order to prevent this from happening to you, it is best if you avoid all such offers.
Other Methods Used
Hackers use a variety of sophisticated techniques in order to enter a mobile device. More importantly, there are several mobile apps out there, such as the Cell Phone Spy App called Mspy, that people can use in order to hack into your device. Spy apps are designed to steal your information and report on whatever you are doing by stealing your data.
However, you don’t need to worry about much at all. These spy apps are generally only effective when a person has physical access to your device. For instance, most of these applications are targeted towards concerned parents of children as well as doubting partners.
One can easily install the application on unsuspecting victims and then keep a check on all of their data. There’s another way as well, known as Midnight Raid. The Midnight Raid is a tool kit that hackers use in order to steal your data and hack your phone. Usually, the hackers will need access to a laptop and the WiFi network of your device.
The reason why it’s known as the Midnight Raid is because the hackers usually carry it out at night. Some hackers also use keylogger applications in order to enter the mobile phone and hack the information but that also requires physical access or a remote install that must be accepted by the user.
In order to prevent you from any kind of mobile phone hack, the best thing that you can do is to avoid installing apps on your phone from unknown sources. More importantly, you should run a regular security check as well to keep your phone safe and secure.

I disagree. Received phone call yesterday, did not answer for twenty minutes. Finially opened my flip phone. Could not declineor answer, phone was frozen. Still frozen 18 hours later. Still shown phone number, but unable to use phone. What might they be doing in there?
Hi Bill, I think it is more likely that your phone is having some kind of mechanical/technical issue. There should be some way to “hard reset” your phone by pressing a combination of buttons or by holding down the power button (if it exists) for an extended period of time. That should fix it, I would think. Good luck!
